📱 iPhone & iPad
Safari only — Chrome on iOS can't install web apps to the home screen (Apple's restriction, not ours).
- Open https://upkeep.softwerks.pro in Safari
- Tap the Share button (square with an up-arrow) at the bottom of the screen
- Scroll down in the Share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen
- Confirm the name (Upkeep) and tap Add in the top-right
- Find the new Upkeep icon on your home screen — tap to launch
Tip: when you launch from the home-screen icon, Upkeep opens full-screen with no Safari chrome. Microphone and location prompts work the same way they do in Safari — say "Allow" the first time so voice and clock-in work.
🤖 Android
Chrome works best. Edge, Brave, and Samsung Internet also work via similar menus.
- Open https://upkeep.softwerks.pro in Chrome
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner
- Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen on older Chrome)
- Confirm the name and tap Install
- Find the new Upkeep icon in your app drawer / home screen
Sometimes Chrome shows an install banner at the bottom of the page automatically — if you see it, just tap Install directly. If you've previously dismissed it, the menu method always works.
💻 Windows Desktop
Works in Chrome, Edge, and any modern Chromium-based browser.
- Open https://upkeep.softwerks.pro in Chrome or Edge
- Look at the right end of the address bar for the install icon — a small monitor with a down-arrow, sometimes shown as + in a square
- Click it → Install Upkeep
- In the install dialog, check Create desktop shortcut if it's offered, then click Install
- Upkeep launches in its own frameless window. The icon also appears in your Start Menu and (if you checked the box) on the Desktop
Don't see the install icon? Try the three-dot menu instead — Chrome calls it Cast, save, and share → Install Upkeep…; Edge calls it Apps → Install this site as an app.
Pin to taskbar: right-click the running Upkeep window's icon in the taskbar → Pin to taskbar. Then it's always one click away.
🍎 macOS Desktop
Same as Windows for Chrome/Edge. Safari has its own install path.
- Chrome / Edge: follow the Windows steps above — the install icon and menu work identically
- Safari: open the URL → menu bar File → Add to Dock… → confirm name → Add
- Either way, Upkeep launches in its own window with the hawk-headed Upkeep icon
🔄 Updates & uninstall
- Updates push automatically — when a new version of Upkeep ships, the next time you open the installed app it picks up the fresh version (just like a tab refresh)
- Uninstall iPhone: long-press the home-screen icon → Remove App → Delete from Home Screen
- Uninstall Android: long-press the icon → Uninstall (or drag to the trash)
- Uninstall Windows/Mac: right-click the app's icon → Uninstall, OR open the Upkeep window and click the three-dot menu inside it → Uninstall Upkeep
